One hundred and twenty years after Camillo Golgi was awarded the Nobel Prize, Pavia opens its doors to the places that shaped the life and scientific career of one of history’s greatest neuroscientists. A free guided tour, held in English, exploring the university spaces, laboratories, and corners of the city where the “black reaction” was born — the discovery that changed forever the study of the nervous system.
A walking itinerary weaving together the history of science, university architecture, and civic memory, designed for anyone wishing to discover Pavia from an unusual perspective: that of the scientist who made this city a world reference point for neurological research.

The initiative is organized by the Chirone Association, with the support of the Mission Structure for National Anniversaries – Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the Regional Council of Lombardy. The guided tour is also endorsed by the Province of Pavia.

A centovent’anni dal Premio Nobel assegnato a Camillo Golgi, Pavia apre le porte ai luoghi che hanno segnato la vita e la carriera scientifica di uno dei più grandi neuroscienziati della storia. Una visita guidata gratuita, condotta in lingua inglese, alla scoperta degli spazi universitari, dei laboratori e degli angoli della città che videro nascere la “reazione nera”, la scoperta che ha cambiato per sempre lo studio del sistema nervoso.
Un percorso a piedi tra storia della scienza, architettura universitaria e memoria cittadina, pensato per chi desidera conoscere Pavia da una prospettiva insolita: quella dello scienziato che ha reso questa città un punto di riferimento mondiale per la ricerca neurologica.
